*Hey Referees! *
Come learn about an exciting new form of soccer for people with 
disabilities; power chair soccer! A clinic will be held in Berkeley on 
February 16, 2008, which will introduce you to this new sport and 
provide certification as a Power Soccer referee. This is an 
all-volunteer activity, a great organization, and a great way to give 
back to the game.
 
This action packed team sport combines the skill of the wheelchair user 
with the speed and power of the chair itself. This is an extremely 
challenging game, and it is a blast to watch, as well as to referee. The 
rules of Power Soccer are similar to FIFA soccer, and the game is played 
on a regulation indoor basketball court with a 13" soccer ball. The game 
flows with non-stop action.

*Date: Saturday, February 16, 2008. *
*Time: 12 noon to 6:30 PM. *
Clinic will be a combination of classroom and on court sessions.
Lunch and all course materials will be provided.

The inaugural Power Soccer World Cup was played in Japan in October 
2007. Team USA won the World Cup in the Final against France in a 
thrilling match going to kicks from the mark!!
 
The season is ongoing right now! It runs from September through May with 
National championships in June in Indianapolis. Right now there are 
local teams in Berkeley, Newark, San Jose, Hollister, and Sacramento. If 
you are anywhere nearby, there are games coming up that need you!
