[ayso45-refs] *Please* help out your region 45 referee captains

U10, U12, and U14 Refs,

Four of your fellow referees volunteered to help the region as ref team 
captains. That extra job is turning out to be more difficult this season 
than in the past. There are two things that every referee can do to make 
the captains' job work more smoothly:

    (1) *Accept *your game assignments in WebYouthSoccer promptly.

        If you must decline, please do that even /more /promptly!

    (2) Verify that your referee *preferences *are set correctly.

        Nearly half of all region 45 referees have /never /set their
        referee preferences, or have not updated their preferences even
        once in 2007.

        Update your preferences to keep them current and accurate. Every
        week, if necessary.

        A very specific issue about your preferences: be sure to verify
        that the "*/Do not schedule against these teams/*" section
        includes your children's teams!  More details below.

Please take a few minutes to verify/update your referee preferences today.

_*Blocking Referee Assignments during your own child's/children's game(s)*_

You almost certainly want your preferences to look like this:


which will show you as already booked to /watch /your child's/children's 
games, when the ref team captains are looking for available refs to 
schedule.

Until you set your referee preferences, WebYouthSoccer defaults to 
showing your child's/children's teams like this:


Unless you really _/*want*/_ to be scheduled to referee other games at 
the same time as your own child's/children's games, be sure that you 
check the "Add" box next to each child, then "Submit"!


/*Special U10 division note*/: the discussion above applies to U10 
scheduled neutral referee (center) assignments.  In region 45 we do not 
schedule U10 ARs. As a U10 team ref, plan to be "on duty" as an AR at 
your own child's games.

Be sure that you fill out each section of the preferences.

You must mark the divisions for which you are willing to referee (both 
boys and girls, for U12 and U14):
