There are several fields in region 45 this season that have portable goals rather that the permanent goals that they had in prior years. There has been some confusion about the correct way to handle these goals.

The following writeup was provided by our fields director (fields at ayso45.org). Please make sure that the procedures are followed, for the safety of the kids and for the sake of AYSO's continued ability to use the fields.

_*"Lockbox" Combination and Contents*_

Remains the same as last year, if you need to know it, ask a coach.
It is in the coaches binder. The combination was also mentioned at
the referee refresher in August. It will not be passed along in email.

The lockbox contains goals/nets at the U7/U8 fields, and nets for
the U10/U12/U14/U16/U19 fields. Corner flags, net stakes, field
paint, and paint spraying machines are also kept inside the lockbox.
There is a first aid kit and extra ice packs in each box, if not,
contact the safety director. (safety at ayso45.org)

_*Procedures for each Field:*_

The following fields all operate under the "lockbox" guidelines as
    described above:

        *Bubb (U10G)
        Cooper
        Huff (U7)
        Landels
        Loyola
        Oak
        Slater
        Springer
        Stevenson*

*Bubb U6*: PUGG portable goals are LOCKED in the Bubb storage shed
for the U6 program. This is opened with a key. People with a key:
Scott McGhee, Jane Zdepski, Eric Gomberg, Kevin Hendren.

_*Exceptions to the lockbox rules:*_

*Crittenden (U12B):* has portable goals that are locked to the
Middlefield fence. Both goals are to be locked together with the
goalmouth facing the street. The key is on a cone in the lockbox.
Goals are anchored with chains in the ground covered by
sprinkler-type covers. Goals must be removed from the field and
locked near the street side of the field after use. /*NO GOALS ARE
ALLOWED TO BE LOCKED ON THE BIKE CAGE*./ The rest of the field
    equipment is in the lockbox.

*Blach (14B):* has portable goals that are locked to the large fence
behind the parcourse station. These goals are easy to move, they
have wheels! Combination lock is the SAME as the lockbox. These
goals are to be returned to the fence after the last match of the
day and locked together with the goalmouths to the fence. There is a
chain where the goals are locked together. The rest of the field
equipment is in the lockbox. While the goals are quite heavy, and
not in danger of falling during a match, there are heavy-duty anchor
stakes in the lockbox for added security. It is important that these
stakes return back to the lockbox.

*Huff (U10B field):* Large portable goals are kept in the Pony
baseball shed. There is a hand truck in the shed to move the goal
bags to the field. (you will know why the hand truck is there if you
try to move the goal bag yourself) The key for the shed is in the
lockbox near the baseball diamond, NOT the lockbox near the U7
field. The key is on a very LONG GOLD KEYCHAIN. It will be obvious
what this keychain looks like when you see it. Please return the
keychain to the lockbox after removing the goals from the shed and
LOCK THE SHED. We have a good relationship with the fields contact
with Pony Baseball and do not want to see any of the baseball
equipment missing because the shed was left unlocked! The goal bags
used to have all of the poles, stakes, anchors, and nets in each one
for one complete goal...however, a screw-up at Huff last weekend got
all of the parts in multiple places. /*SPECIAL NOTE: IT IS VERY
DANGEROUS TO LEAVE THE GOALS UP ON THE FIELD UNSUPERVISED. THIS HAS
HAPPENED ONCE ALREADY. WE ARE EXTREMELY SENSITIVE TO THE DANGER OF
LEAVING A GOAL UNATTENDED.*/ If for any reason, a game is
terminated, last game of the day, etc...please take down the goals
    and lock them up!

*Graham:* Artificial Turf field, only set-up is the corner flags.
These are locked in the AYSO storage shed. There are two keys issued
to AYSO. Scott McGhee has both of them. If you have a game you are
checked out a key, and you return it by locking it in the shed with
the corner flags after your match. Goals are in place, chained and
locked to the football goalposts. /*NO FOOD ALLOWED ON THE TRACK OR
FIELD, ESPECIALLY GUM AND SUNFLOWER SEEDS!*/

/*
*/
I hope this makes sense. Please let me know if I have forgotten anything.

On a side note, we have a small army of volunteers that line fields each week. This is usually done on Thursday or Friday. AYSO lines all fields except Blach, Cooper, Stevenson, and Graham. The Mountain View-Los Altos soccer club lines the other four fields for our region as part of the shared-use agreement between our two organizations. If these fields are NOT lined, please let me know immediately.
