*Coaches *and *Refs*,

Many teams are still working on recruiting team referees. Some of those
who have volunteered as team referees have not yet taken or not yet
completed the referee training classes. Some team referees will be away
for the Labor Day weekend.

For the "practice" games on 9/1, please follow these guidelines as best
you can.

*U7 and U8*

The home team's team referee should be the referee for the match. If
s/he is not available this weekend or is not trained, the visiting
team's team referee should take over as the referee for the match.
If neither team has a trained referee, then one of the coaches or
assistant coaches should act as the referee.

*U10*

We do not have U10 referee captains to schedule the referees
    (center) this weekend.

The home team's team referee should be the referee (center) for the
match. If s/he is not available or is not yet trained, the visiting
team's team referee should take over as the referee for the match.
The referee should use any other trained referees present as
assistant referees. If no other trained referees are available, then
the referee should ask the coaches to recruit "club linesmen" from
    the spectators.

*U12 and U14*

The U12/U14 referee captains/schedulers will do their best to assign
referee coverage for these matches. We should have enough refs
available this weekend to cover the referee (center) for all
matches, and ARs for some. The referee will ask the coaches to
    recruit club linesmen when needed.

Referees, the U12/U14 scheduling is being done this evening
(Wednesday 8/29). Please check your email and your assignments in
WebYouthSoccer as early on Thursday as you can. If you cannot cover
your assignment(s), decline quickly so that we can try to reshuffle.

And /please /set your referee preferences correctly!

/*Please */use this week and this weekend to recruit more team
referees. You and your teams will have a much better season if there
are trained 3-ref teams at all U10, U12, and U14 matches.

Remember, we're all volunteers, we're all learning, and we're doing it
for the kids.

Let's get the season off to a great start on Saturday!

Beau
