Allow me to add additional comments to those already made by David
Stubbs.

All parents are to be on the side of the field on their player's side
and be between the Penalty Area Lines, i.e. in the middle part of the
field. No parent, with the exception of a photographer is allowed
behind the goal line. The photographer must have the permission of the
Referee and must be absolutely quiet at all times. In addition to fair
play, this is a safety issue. "Coaching" from behind the Keeper can
distract him or her and lead to an injury during an attack.

Dave Stubbs had replied:

1. The parent was correct, that NO ONE should be
coaching outside the technical area (within the ten
meter radius arc at the center of the field, on the
sidelines).
2. The parent was also very wrong in going to you
directly. He/she should have talked to the coach who
could then have brought this valid complaint to your
attention.
