Hello Coaches and Referees,
Clarification for the season on which teams have NETS duty.
Web Youth Soccer lists both the Home and the Away team as having NETS for
the first and last games of the day on a given field.
For field setup, both teams should have parents assisting in NETS duty.
Untimately, it is the responsibility of the HOME team to get the field ready
for play, but given that we can't change Web Youth Soccer to only list the
Home team, please have parents from the AWAY team facilitate this. For field
take down after the last game, parents from both teams should aid in the
take down of the nets and goals.
*Temporary Procedures for Montclaire, Huff and Springer*
We are in the process of figuring out storage of our goals and such at 3 of
the fields. Most of this is brought on by purchasing and utilizing larger
goals for our U8 program this season as well as bringing Montclaire back
on-line.
The new U8 goals as well as the full sized goals for Montclaire are a
different style of goal. They are "In Ground" goals meaning that instead of
the structure supporting the goal, the goals have stakes on the 4 corners
(one for each goal post and one for each of the two supports in the back)
which you drive into the ground. This will require assembly and threading of
the nets. For take down, please try to leave the net on one of the cross
bars.
MONTCLAIRE - Used for U10G - I will deliver the goals to the field at 8:00am
for use and I will ask one of the coaches of the 12:15pm game to return them
to my house which is very close to Montclaire. We will hopefully be moving a
lock storage box over to Montclaire later today which will contain all of
the other equipment for the field - flags, cones, field painters, etc.
SPRINGER - Used for U08B - Do not use the small 5' x 10' goals in the
storage lock box. We will remove them at some point, but that hasn't
happened yet. Scott McGhee will be delivering the goals to the field in the
morning or will contact the coaches the first game. He will then be
retrieving the goals from the last game.
HUFF - Used for U08G and U10B, both of which have portable goals. For U08G,
do not use the small 5' x 10' goals in the storage lock box. Again, these
will be removed at some point. Peggy Aoki will be arranging delivery of
these goals to Huff and pick up. Coaches, if she contacts you to pick up and
or drop off the goals at her house, please comply. The U10B goals are the
same as last year and are not the in-ground style.
These temporary procedures will remain in place until we have storage at the
fields.
*All Other Fields*
Loyola - U07B - Two sets of portable 5' x 10' goals stored in the Knaack
storage lock box on the back fence.
Oak - U07G - Two sets of portable 5' x 10' goals stored in the storage lock
box to the left by the permanent shed structure.
Slater - U10B - Permanent goals installed by the city of Mt. View. Nets and
such are in the storage lock box.
Landels - U10G - Permanent goals installed by the city of Mt. View. Nets and
such are in the storage lock box along the back fence near the alley way to
Mercy Street.
Whisman - U12G - Permanent goals installed by the city of Mt. View. Nets and
such are in the storage lock box.
Crittenden - U12B - Full-sized goals are locked to the fence adjacent to the
field. Nets and such are in the storage lock box by the baseball diamond.
Cooper - U14G & U12G - Permanent goals installed by the city of Mt. View.
Nets and such are in the storage lock box to the right of the field near
Chesley Way.
Blach - U14B & U12B - I apologize, I don't know exactly what we have out
there, but I believe it is permanent goals.
Enjoy the practice games tomorrow.
Thanks,
Drew.
